The Assignment
The Tudor Farmhouse Hotel and Restaurant based in the Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire is a popular tourist destination. The owners were keen to boost profits by encouraging passing trade to come in to the restaurant for a cup of coffee.
Our Approach
Previously, the Tudor Farmhouse only served filter coffee so a quality coffee offer was needed to tempt customers in. By installing an easy-to-use bean-to-cup Tiger espresso machine we’ve created a new proposition for the business.
Aimee, Key Account Exec at United Coffee commented: “A quality coffee offer is a great profit driver and an automatic machine, like the Tiger espresso machine, is ideal for operations that either have a lot of staff or run 24/7, as no barista training is required. To keep customers coming back, the coffee must be consistent; an automatic machine gives the operator the piece of mind that consistency will be delivered every time, thanks to the touch of a button.”
Hari placed a small ad in the local press and Aimee has been working with her to create table talkers and coffee menus for the hotel bedrooms, using United Coffee’s bespoke design service, to drive awareness of the proposition amongst customers.
The Result
In just two months, coffee sales increased by 25%, just through lunch and dinner sales.
Aimee comments, “This is a fantastic first step and we hope to see this success translate across the business, with the introduction of speciality coffee menus into each of the hotel bedrooms to communicate the offer and encourage sales outside of meal times. The Tudor Farmhouse are packaging coffee and home-made cakes together which will create additional selling opportunities and is a great way of adding value for the customer.”
“The Tiger machine that United Coffee has installed for us is perfect. It’s automatic which means that any member of staff can operate it and we can be sure that our customers will be served the best quality cup of coffee every time.”
