Taste the best - Grand Café Grand Cru

news image

Likened to fine wine, Grand Cru impresses coffee connoisseurs with its subtle flavours and educates coffee novices in what a really great coffee should taste like.

First Choice Coffee pays a premium price to ensure that the coffees are fully traceable, from plantations where growers take time and care to nurture and craft the quality of their crop. It is this investment and support that helps growers across the world in achieving a sustainable future.

Grand Cru Espresso is a complex blend of Colombian ‘Agus Azul’, Kenyan ‘Gethumbwini’, Costa Rican ‘La Pira’ and El Salvador ‘Las Delicias’.

Colombian ‘Agus Azul’ – the coffee is a co-operative of 40 members in the Huila region of Colombia. Wine-like fruity sweetness, acidity, good body and a caramel / fudge tone makes you crave a second cup.

Kenyan ‘Gethumbwini’ – the Gethumbwini estate covers around 360 hectares of land with coffee and is home to a huge range of wildlife. The coffee is processed through a company hulling facility, then wet processed to reveal bright, acidic, blackcurrant flavours and an interesting grapefruit finish. Creating a unique espresso experience.

Costa Rican ‘La Pira’ – from a small farm that uses grazing sheep as its own unique way of reducing the use of herbicides. This high quality coffee is prized for its exceptional sweetness and clean finish in the cup. Expect caramel, cinnamon, spiced orange flavour and aroma, green apple acidity and custard-like creamy mouth feel.

El Salvador ‘Las Delicias’ – grown for over 50 years by the Menendez family on the fertile slopes of the Santa Ana Mountain, this widely sought–after coffee is bursting with light citrus acidity, milk chocolate tones and a lingering pleasant aftertaste.
